Winter Magic at The Cove Lakeside Resort

Kelowna has been one of our favorite getaways for so many years now. Usually we go for the warm temperatures in the summer, but in December we had the chance to visit and experience so much more than just the summer sun and all the fun that goes along with that!

Our recent visit to The Cove Lakeside Resort on the west side of Kelowna was truly perfect. The view of Lake Okanagan from our gorgeous room was absolutely breathtaking and we got the chance to experience some different aspects of this beautiful place.

Our trip started off with a visit with Santa! The Cove hosts an annual charity event, Selfies with Santa, where proceeds go to help support the West Kelowna Food Bank. After a sweet little visit and photo, we had a wonderful brunch at the Bonfire restaurant located in the hotel lobby. Omelets, egg bennies, waffles and so much more... it was definitely a delicious treat!

We also had the opportunity to visit two of the beautiful, kid friendly wineries in the area that are part of the West Side Wine Trail. Our first stop was Off The Grid Organic Winery. This is an amazing place to bring the kids! The location and views were incredible and Parker loved getting to feed all the goats and sheep on the property. With sustainability at the forefront of their practice, and the wine tasting in a net zero off the grid building, it is definitely a unique wine tasting experience for all to enjoy.

Our second stop was Quails' Gate where we got a private tour of the incredible grounds and we were able to see various parts of the wine making process. The wine was wonderful and Parker was a huge fan of the sparkling apple juice!

Parker's favorite part of any vacation is usually the swimming! There is one hot tub that is open year round at The Cove, so we definitely took advantage of that every day! The outdoor pools and water slides looked like so much fun, so we’ve promised Parker we will go back and take advantage of those during the warmer months. We also took a visit to Johnson Bentley Aquatic Centre where Parker was able to swim his little heart out and our little fishy was definitely very happy!

On our last night, we ventured into downtown Kelowna and took Parker ice skating for the very first time at the outdoor rink.... and it even started to sprinkle snow as we skated around! It was truly a magical night to top of an absolutely perfect little family getaway for us! Thank you so much to The Cove Lakeside Resort and Visit Westside for hosting us and to all the businesses that made this a truly magical winter experience. Our favorite part of the season is making memories as a little family and this is definitely one we won’t soon forgot!

Although this experience was gifted, all the opinions are of my own.
